The Place & Producers The Arsosala washing station was founded in 2015 in the renowned Uraga woreda of Guji. It serves around 1,200 local smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee on small family plots alongside other food crops. Traditional farming practices in this region are organic by default, with virtually no access to or use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Because hundreds of producers deliver small harvests throughout the picking season, cherries are thoughtfully combined into daily processing lots. We source this lot through trusted export partners who maintain long-standing, traceable relationships with the Arsosala station, allowing us to return to these exceptional coffees year after year while supporting the local farming community.

Processing While Arsosala processes both washed and natural lots, this specific selection is a stunning natural-process coffee.

Ripe cherries are sorted and transferred directly to raised drying beds without depulping. The whole fruit dries slowly under the sun for 8 to 20 days—depending on weather conditions—and is turned regularly to ensure proper airflow and uniform drying. This allows the fruit sugars to concentrate and infuse deeply into the seed before hulling.

In the Cup A floral, fruit-forward profile with a lush, syrupy sweetness and juicy acidity. You may find notes of:

  • fresh jasmine

  • stone fruit (peach, apricot)

  • cooked berries

A Classic Natural Guji Profile This Grade 1 selection showcases everything we love about natural Ethiopian coffees from the Guji zone. The slow drying process yields an amazingly rich body and deep fruit complexity, beautifully balanced by delicate floral aromatics. It is an expressive, sweet, and memorable cup.
