The Place & Producers

This coffee comes from smallholder farms in and around Tibussan Village, located on the eastern slopes of Mount Latimojong, home to the highest peak in Sulawesi. Farms here sit between 1,250 and 1,450 meters, where cooler temperatures and fertile soils support a mix of Typica-derived varieties and regional hybrids.

Producers harvest coffee as whole cherry and deliver it to a local mill in the village. This centralized system allows for consistent processing while still reflecting the work and growing conditions of the surrounding farms.

Processing

At the mill, this lot is processed using the washed method, which is less common in Indonesia than traditional wet-hulled styles.

Cherry is depulped, fermented to break down the remaining mucilage, then washed clean before drying on patios or raised beds for roughly two weeks. After drying, the coffee rests in sealed storage for about 30 days before export.

This approach produces a cleaner, more structured profile than is typically associated with Indonesian coffees.
